Here’s the brief (TLDR): Amanda picked up a mom and 5 kittens, if we’re going to foster them AND the Spicy kittens we need to buy THIS cat condo immediately as well as Momma & Baby cat food. Send Donations Here | Wishlist here.

THE STORY SO FAR

Amanda recently came across a listing for Free Kittens, and with some other concerned neighbors started a dialogue with the author of the post. Turns out if was the ex-wife of the person who actually rescue the kittens.

In a sad turn of events this man’s neighbor had been evicted and with no certainty in their life had intended on abandoning a new mom and her kittens. The man, Douglas stepped up and saved them from being abandoned. Taking in Mom and the kittens he’s been caring for them, for the past couple of weeks.

He named the mom cat Hope.

After talking with Douglas, Amanda agreed to take the mom and kittens with the intention of passing them along to another KR foster. However, after meeting Hope and the kittens, we have decided we might just be those fosters.

THE PROBLEM

If you’re aware of our situation, you already know that we basically have ONE available room to foster in. Ideally, Mom and kittens would take over the main room (the live stream room). This means the Spicy Kittens would head out to the rest of the house, with no dedicated sleeping area of their own.

We’ve lucked out and there’s actually a wave of warmth for a few days in Los Angeles, so Momma and her litter can stay in the garage for at least a couple of days in a pet pop-up tent. However, they’re in a smaller than ideal situation.

WHAT WE NEED

We’re looking to our amazing community of kindhearted, cat-loving, friends to help chip away at the cost of THIS cat condo and Momma and Baby Cat food from Royal Canin

As a KR foster, Amanda can order the food we need directly from Royal Canin at a lower price, so we’re asking for monetary donations at this point to stretch those dollars best.

Our goal is to raise at least $260 by 11 pm PT tonight, so we can order the Cat Condo, with our Amazon Prime it’ll be here by Wednesday! But our full goal is $300 so we can also get some cases of the wet food asap.

WHAT ABOUT THE SPICY KITTENS?

Here’s where things get tricky, we don’t have a good dedicated place in the house for a second litter, and just letting them have full access to roam the house presents a few problems. Namely adult cats eating all the kitten food kittens up at all hours of the night, and kids never leaving them alone (which could undo all the great work we’ve done in socializing them)

However, Kitten Rescue just put out a call for fosters to take residency in their Adoption Center. Amanda put in an email to let them know we had kitten available and we’re waiting to hear back.

So, if we end up getting the kittens in the KR AC, then this whole thing is unnecessary. That being said, we’ll surely find ourselves in this situation again and again, so it’s still great for us to have this. That being said, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

ENOUGH OF THAT, SHOW ME KITTENS!

Along with mom there are five kittens, which means two big milestones for us; With the two litters this makes the most animals we’ve fostered at one time, for a total of Ten!

And we have just fostered over 100 cats!

The kittens look to be about a week old plus a few days, they’re eyes have just opened. Some seem to have some pretty crust eyes, which Amanda is treating them for.

Mom is super friendly and pretty.
