This year, we wanted to do something special to help out our local animal rescue organization, Kitten Rescue LA . We raised over $500, and bought enough supplies to make a couple dozen gift bags for the kitties in need. We’re so excited to see how these bags help the rescues continue their work! If you’re interested in helping out, or just want to learn more about these organizations, check them out on Facebook or Twitter.

Monday we’ll be delivering the gift bags to Kitten Rescue’s sanctuary to be distributed on Tuesday to those fosters volunteering their time and homes.

What Was the Project?

Our ‘Cat Kits’ projects was created off the back of Kitten Rescues (KR) ‘Clear the Shelter’ mission. Every year as part of Giving Tuesday KR has gathered their volunteers to foster cats from a single shelter to help clear space for the shelter to take in new animals.

In 2020, we particapted as fosters to clear East Valley Shelter and while we’ve signed up yet again for the 2022 mission to clear West Valley Shelter, we wanted to do something bigger with the community of amazing cat lovers aka the Kitten Krew.

We wanted to give the participating volunteers something they might not buy themselves. Things like food and litter can be very specific to individual cats and their foster but Cat Toys are furever!

How We Gave Back

We raised $500 to make kits for volunteers participating in the Kitten Rescue ‘Clear the Shelter’ project. Last night we put together all the kits live on Instagram.

What Is In the Gift Bags?

Each bag contains alot of clawsome fun to keep a cat of any age entertained. So we put together gift bags that contained toys and treats, it’s honestly too much to list but here’s basic glance at what’s in the bag!

• Cat Tunnel

• Wand Toy

• 6 Churru Treats

• 1 soft blanket

• So many balls, mice and other little toys!

Why Volunteers Need Them

We wanted to get things that cats of any age would love, and things that volunteers (especially newer ones) might not have or buy themselves. They’re already covering the cost of cat food, and litter and many have personal favorites or needs for those.

Hopefully this will not only help keep cats happy, it’ll help volunteers spend their own money more effectively to caring for more fosters AND maybe we can inspire more people to sign up to become volunteers with Kitten Rescue in the Los Angeles area.

A $10 Donation

We foster several kittens every year as volunteers through Kitten Rescue LA. We also do what we can to help other fosters and rescues.

We are grateful for every donation, and your support allows us to provide care for homeless cats.

Setup a reoccurring donation through our patreon – set it and forget it, and know you’re helping save lives every month

Conclusion

Throughout the day on December 20th, Clear the Shelters, a group dedicated to helping those in the animal sheltering community in the Kitten Rescue of Central Florida, completed a year-long project to provide gifts to the families of the hundreds of animals that were adopted in the last year.

Volunteers are needed to clear out the shelter, so shelters can take in more strays. We made these bags to give fosters things they might not buy themselves that would be loved by cats of any age. Give back to help animals find homes.

We did a project to raise money for Kitten Rescue and made kits to share with volunteers. We want to give back. We want this project to make a difference. The project will benefit the animals and the impact of it won’t just be on our group, but with hundreds
