Can I adopt a kitten?

You’re welcome to come to any of the adoption events in Los Angeles, or put in an application when they become available. Kittens are NOT adopted on a first come basis, there is a review process and home inspection. For this reason you must live in the Los Angeles or surrounding areas.

In early 2016 we lost our cat Avocado, a beautiful, friendly black cat with green eyes. It was a very sudden loss and my wife Amanda was devastated by the loss of her friend. Not ready to move on to getting a new cat of our own, she decided to start fostering.

CuteAvalanche is my own project, a Tumblr blog that features cute animals, cats, and dogs. It seemed like a purrfect merger to join the success of CuteAvalanche with the ability to help foster kittens in Los Angeles, and maybe one day in other cities and states!

In 2017 we took in three foster litters and placed 7 kittens into their adoptive forever homes! This year we aimed at double that number.

In 2018 we fostered 14 kittens in only the first few months of kitten season.

We average one can of food per cat per day! It’s a lot. While Thankfully Kitten Rescue covers all the medical needs, vaccines, and getting microchipped; we pay for food, litter, toys, bedding, and incidentals out of our pockets.

Our Past Litters

At the begining of 2018 we got our first litter of the year – 3 beautiful 5 week old kittens; named Rey, Finn & Poe – hence the Paw Wars Foster Kittens. Working with Kitten Rescue, these kittens were saved from a shelter and won’t be ready for adoption for at least 3 or 4 weeks (they’re so small!). With your donations we were able to cover all the costs for these amazing kittens!
