Monet’s Story
Monet is our first fully blind foster, she was posted on Instagram by FriendsOfWestValley JULY 22 with a call to foster. Monet had a double Ocular surgery due to both eyes rupturing and will sadly never see again.
Through Kitten Rescue LA we’ve taken her in and are fostering her, but we need help accommodating our first blind foster.

Monet (formerly Helen) is sweet as can be but unfortunately, she’s not feeling great. This fundraiser is set up to focus on some very specific needs for our little blind foster.
We do want to clarify, Kitten Rescue covers the medical needs for all our fosters. We foot the bill for things like Food, litter, toys, suppliments, scratchers, and day to day care.
Litter training has not come easy, for obvious reasons so we’ve decide to forgo that for the immediate future to focus on helping her feel better, beat this kitty cold and get her appetite back.
Which means, we’re gonna need pee pads (and probably laundry detergent to clean her bedding frequently).
We’ve heard fountains work wonders for blind cats, since they make sound. However with a small kitten we need a special fountain that she can actually reach.
Monet has been pretty finicky when it comes to eating, though she did respond well to Tiki Cat Baby Thrive and we’re hoping to get more quickly.
While we hope Monet can join some of our other fosters in time to frolic and play, as she grows we need an enclosure for her and have add a large Parkland Pet Portable Foldable Playpen

What Happens if we pass our Goal?
The fundraiser goal represents about a month’s worth of Monet’s immediate needs and we do expect her to be a long-term foster as we wouldn’t just adopt her out to the first person that applies.
We want to make sure she not only goes to a loving home but one we feel is fully capable of caring for her and her needs (and has a clawsome playmate to show her the ropes)
That being said, this is just a small fraction of what we anticipate her needs to be
